artistically the most captivating exhibition premiered during dutch design week (for our highlights, click here), open ended, on display through january 10, 2016 at art space cum restaurant soon cum luxury hotel kazerne, offers a glimpse into the private collection of lidewij edelkoort, formerly chairwoman of design academy eindhoven, located only a few minutes from kazerne and now its first guest curator.

combining works by artists both local like nacho carbonell (who has his workspace at eindhoven’s busy atelier grounds sectie-c) or interior design bestseller piet hein eek, and international stars like yohji yamamoto or rei kawakubo (for comme des garçons), the exhibition proudly substantiates the claim that design should be regarded as an autonomous artistic discipline outside of aspects of function and purpose. here are but a few highlights…
