before things get super-busy with berlin fashion week next week, i was given the opportunity to enjoy the good life in dubai for a few days. after two nights at the sofitel dubai downtown, i just transfered to sofitel dubai the palm resort & spa – a pretty boring, technical name for a place so rich with splendor – even though the “palm” refers to the shape of the completely artificial island on which the resort sits.

here are some pictures i just took in the dusk after taking a swim in the arabian gulf. yes, even here, where temparatures today peaked at some smooth 49° celsius (no kidding!), the sun eventually goes down.
