housed in one of master-architect louis-marie cordonnier’s finest buildings sits what might easily pass as lille’s best restaurant. once the headquarter of one of the region’s mightiest coal mining companies, le coke’s ballroom-sized main room boasts stucko-adorned walls, a lustrous chandelier, and a majestic fireplace. however,  all of this is just the backdrop for the true beauty of the dishes that come flying in by and by per the restaurant’s 6- to 8-course “menu charbon” – a marvelous arrangement of aromas, tastes, and colors as well as plenty of plants for the stunningly imaginative presentation. these are our favorite shots from a truly unforgettable evening…
