these are big days for hard rock cafe – especially for their berlin location on kurfürstendamm, which celebrated its 25th birthday this week with a big ball and a helluva lotta burgers. in addition to that feast, international newcomer band contest hard rock rising is in its preliminary rounds. most importantly, though, the world burger tour just kicked off. it sends a selection of local legendary burgers from the world’s hard rock cafe restaurants across the globe. the four may burgers can already be ordered before they get replaced by four different ones in june.
the may selection features two spicy burgers, the olé from barcelona (goat cheese and romesco!) and ho-chi-minh-city’s banh mi (vietnamese seasoning and pickled vegetables). in addition to these two, the tango salsa from buenos aires, which stacks the bun with, among other delicacies, andouille sausage, aioli, and salsa criolla, and the pulled pork party that is the tennessee bbq burger make this a heavy choice.
june is even more colorful: the kimchi burger from seoul features the country’s most famous ingredient and tops it off with bulgogi sauce and fresh tomato, the jambalaya from new orleans boasts cajun mayo, pepper jack, and a rice waffle, while the plantain burger from cartagena, colombia plays it big with, yes, plantains, bacon, caramelized onions, and mojo sauce. however, the golden goal is scored by london’s english breakfast: ham, sausage, egg, and portobello mushroom make this a meal that will make you last all day – even without the baked beans that come with it.
